East Rochester Police officer shot
Around 3:45 PM, East Rochester police officers responded to the 700 block of Garfield Street for an unknown issue at an apartment.
A short time after the officer responded shots were fired, hitting the Officer, but not penetrating through his vest. This caused a massive police response from nearly every police agency in Monroe county to response to the scene.
The East Rochester Police Department Officer was was shot, Brad Steve is currently in the hospital being treated for non-life threatening injuries after being shot in his bulletproof vest without the bullet going through his vest.
The suspect is also being treated with what seems to be non-life threatening injuries after being shot.
Garfield Street and the neighborhood surrounding is shut down.
