Numerous people dead in Irondequoit
On August 31 around 5:23 am Irondequoit Police received a 911 call at 329 Knapp Avenue for a report of a house fire. Irondequoit Police along with St. Paul Fire Department, Point Pleasant Fire Department, and Irondequoit ambulance responded to the scene.
When first responders arrived on scene, they did find the house on fire. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire. While firefighters were checking the house, they did locate several people dead inside the home.
The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and removed the remains. An autopsy will be performed to confirm the cause of deaths.
The Irondequoit Police Department has not released how many individuals were found dead inside the home.
The medical examiners office will be determining the cause and manner of death.
The Irondequoit Police Department is working with the Monroe County District Attorney, Monroe County Fire Bureau Arson Investigators, and New York State Fire Investigators.
